When/how did you first fall in love with Topsail Island?:

My husband and I were looking to move to the NC Coast. We started looking in Corolla and worked our way down the coast till we got to Topsail Island.  We were looking for a coastal area that didn’t close down in the winter.  This was a perfect match for us. I love the pace of living and the people here.

How long have you been an agent?:

I have been a realtor since 2005.

What are your strengths?:

  • I love my job.
  • I know a lot about real estate in the area.  I have years of experience plus I am always taking seminars, webinars and classes.
  • I am very organized and will help you before, during and after the sale or purchase of your home.

How do your strengths help to make you a great agent?

I care about my clients and it shows.  Knowing everything I can about real estate in the area helps me to allow you to make the best-informed decisions about purchasing or selling property.  I stay organized so things don’t fall through the cracks and everything moves smoothly. I try to manage your expectations so you won’t be any surprises along the way.  Lastly, my previous career in problem solving (systems analysis) helps me to conquer any challenges that we may encounter along the way.

List any special awards, degrees/certifications, or any other relevant qualifications you may have:

I have my ABR, SFR, SRES, EcoBroker, SPS, RSPS, North Carolina Workforce Housing Specialist certifications and have completed “mediation and ombudsman training”. I am the President elect of the Topsail Island Association of Realtor and have been the treasurer for 2 years.  I am a TIAR regional MLS manager and will be the president of the NCRMLS in 2021.

What makes you an expert in your role as a realtor on Topsail Island?

I care about my clients, not just the sale.  I need to know everything I can to support my clients.  That means that I am constantly working to learn more about coastal property, the towns, and the business and services in the area.  If I don’t know the answer to a question I will find out.

What values are most important to you and your work (honesty, integrity, family, etc.)?

I want my clients to be totally happy and satisfied with their interactions with me.  My commitment, integrity, and knowledge of real estate make this possible.

Why should clients choose you as their agent?:

Purchasing or Selling a home is probably going to be one of the most expensive transaction you will ever be involved in.  You need the best support you can get.  I am the person that has the knowledge and experience to guide you through this process confidently and successfully.

Where did you grow up?:

I was raised on a “gentleman’s” farm in Maryland close to Washington DC. I have lived on a sailboat, in a custom home on Topsail Island and now live in Southwest Jacksonville.

I spent my first career in commercial software development industry.  I have 4 grown children, some are steps, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  My husband was retired from the Army and I have a son-in-law and a grandchild currently serving in the military.
